Job Position:
LINUX / OPEN SOURCE CONSULTANT
The Role:
- The Consultant should have a dynamic understanding of Enterprise Open Source and Linux with experience applying those technologies.
- Should also have strong communication and technical skills with enterprise wide deployments and good history of project delivery.
- Should focus on quality work service bringing positive customer satisfaction, while building breadth and depth of technical speciality in one or more Red Hat technologies. Adopt an understanding of customer’s business and infrastructure issues also making recommendations for customer’s environment or project needs.
First Responsibilities:
- Consultants would face coordination and management
- They are expected to gain an understanding of industry best practices through experienced proffessionalism
- They would solve problems of vast scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- They would reasonably select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- They would interact with senior internal and external personnel
- They would fetch innovative ideas, enthusiasm and energy for the team
- They must possess excellent technical skills in Unix or Linux system configuration and administration
- They should be able to constantly learn about new technologies and apply those concepts to providing customer needs
- They should be able to work as part of a geographically dispersed team
Required Skills & Experience:
- Should have 3 years working experience in a Consultant or related role
- Should possess advanced knowledge of Unix or Linux database administration and tuning
- Should have advanced knowledge of Linux kernel internals, performance tuning experience, troubleshooting, bug fix updates and core builds
- They must have experience implementing Virtualization technologies in an enterprise setting
- Experience with enterprise wide deployments is needed
- They should be knowledgeable on Open Source technologies and the Open Source Community.
- Exhibited experience communicating value, progress,and metrics (status) of key projects to stakeholders and diverse audience is required
